Rogers Pass-Panoramas from Gun Positions- Work In Progress
The Number of Howitzer Gun Positions along Highway #1 in Rogers Pass BC have become not only direct points of interaction for humans to interact with the landscape but also ones of control. They appear to be benign concrete circles, yet function as panoramic anchor points for the 105 mm Howitzer Cannons used to shoot projectiles into the snow pack on slopes in the mountains above, to prevent large scale avalanches from being triggered by accident on to the Highway. I stood at the center point of each one panning the camera 360 degrees to capture the view point or each position at Highway level. This is a work in progress yet to be completed. Many thanks to Parks Canada.
